About

The AJH Informatics Review is an automated weekly digest of new research in applied clinical informatics — EHR use and documentation burden, AI scribes, real-world evaluation of clinical AI, interoperability and health information exchange, and the policy and economics of health IT. It is modeled on Kevin Bryan's Useful Knowledge and curated by A Jay Holmgren (UCSF).

How it works

Every Wednesday morning a pipeline pulls newly indexed papers from PubMed, Crossref, the NBER working paper feed, and medRxiv. Claude (Anthropic) screens each title and abstract against a hand-written relevance rubric, assigns categories, writes the one-paragraph summaries, and drafts the editor's note. Nothing is human-reviewed before publication.

Read accordingly: summaries are generated from abstracts only and can contain errors; selection reflects one researcher's interests, not the field's importance ranking; always read the original paper before citing anything.
